Involved #HigherEd Community

I have always been impressed with how involved the higher ed and higher ed marketing community is. Always there to support one another, bounce ideas off of one another, share best practices, and other fun stuff like the #pancaketweetup kept rolling by Tim Nekritz.

Here are two more opportunities to get further involved in the higher ed and higher ed marketing community.

Opportunity #1 – 2011 International Brand Master Nominations
IThis is the prestigious and formal opportunity. Do you know a coworker, colleague, peer, or even yourself that is currently employed at a college or university? Have they spent the last year slaving over a great higher ed brand, either implementing a new brand, improving on a current one, or created an awesome new tactic? Give them the recognition they so richly deserve.

Nominate them in the next day and a half (by Friday December 16, 2011) to be the next 2011 International Brand Master. The nominee can be employed at a higher ed institution anywhere in the world. Get those nominations in!

Opportunity #2 – #HigherEdHolidays
After you finish the formal opportunity above, be sure to have a little fun and connect with the higher ed community online.

There are three ways for your higher ed department to get involved (any higher ed department can take part, not just marketing):

  1. Most colleges and universities roll out their holiday wishes and greeting websites and videos around this time of year. Share yours with the community.
  2. Tell everyone what is on your holiday gift wish list for your higher ed department this year.
  3. Tell everyone how your higher ed department celebrates the holidays.

Share any one or all three with the higher ed community by posting it at this Facebook event (click here), or on Twitter using the #HigherEdHolidays hashtag (click here).

Also, be sure to “attend” the Facebook event and invite others so they may be able to take part!

Happy Holidays Higher Ed!
